Scholarship Terms

SAILI Scholarships cover:

  • full school fees at schools costing less than R12,000 a year, partial fees at other schools
  • an individually tailored educational package for uniform, textbooks, stationery and other school related needs, up to R5,300 a year.  This package is based on family income and other factors
  • educational and psycho-social support, on a needs basis. This includes tutoring and counselling

SAILI Scholarships facilitate:

  • educational outings with a Maths/Science focus
  • learning-support workshops covering topics such as study skills and career planning
  • reflective learning processes through quarterly academic monitoring and feedback

Our students’ responsibilities

  • Students (with the help of their parents) must apply to our recommended high schools and gain acceptance. Once they are accepted, the SAILI scholarship is confirmed.
  • In return, we expect our students to maintain their academic aggregate above 60%.
  • Students must take Maths and Physical Science in the senior phase
  • They must continue to exhibit a positive approach to their learning. Behaviour and motivation comments on school reports should reflect this.
  • Students must submit their reports to SAILI each term for monitoring.
  • Students must participate in the SAILI outings and workshops offered each term

For students who are not accepted onto the SAILI scholarship programme, we have compiled information on other options.
