About Us

Bridging the Gap to a Brighter Tomorrow

What we do

At SAILI, we walk alongside academically strong learners from low-income households, helping them thrive in high-performing public schools. We collaborate with under-resourced schools that deliver quality education, contributing to their continued success through talented learners and holistic support.

Our model is cost-effective, learner-centred, and built to last – ensuring learners receives support, guidance, and the tools to succeed in school and beyond.

Our Purpose

A South Africa where potential – not circumstance – determines a young person’s future.

To identify academically talented learners from under-resourced communities and guide them into high-performing public schools, with the support they need to succeed from Grade 8 to Grade 12 and beyond.

We believe real change doesn’t come from creating new systems – it comes from strengthening what’s already working. SAILI partners with high-performing public schools, quietly adding value by growing peer networks, contributing resources, and offering learners the long-term support they need to thrive where they already are.

We are committed to:
  • Keeping cost per learner low without compromising quality.
  • Focusing on STEM to expand university access and open pathways where black South Africans remain underrepresented
  • Supporting each learner academically, emotionally, and socially
  • Building respectful long-term partnerships with schools, families, and funders
  • Maintaining full BBBEE-compliance
We hold ourselves accountable to the learners we serve and the communities we work within.

A scholarship opens the door. We walk through it with them – all the way from Grade 8 to Grade 12.
