What we do

At SAILI, we walk alongside academically strong learners from low-income households, helping them thrive in high-performing public schools. We collaborate with under-resourced schools that deliver quality education, contributing to their continued success through talented learners and holistic support.

Our model is cost-effective, learner-centred, and built to last – ensuring learners receives support, guidance, and the tools to succeed in school and beyond.

Our Purpose

To walk alongside academically strong learners from under-resourced communities, providing the support, structure, and belief they need to succeed – in strong public schools and beyond.

We believe real change doesn’t come from creating new systems – it comes from strengthening what’s already working.

SAILI partners with high-performing public schools, quietly adding value by growing peer networks, contributing resources, and offering learners the long-term support they need to thrive where they already are.

We are committed to:
  • Keeping our cost per learner low without compromising quality.
  • Focusing on STEM subjects to expand university access and help learners forge pathways into careers where black South Africans remain underrepresented
  • Supporting each learner holistically – academically, emotionally, and socially
  • Building meaningful, respectful partnerships with schools, families, and funders
  • Remaining fully BBBEE-compliant.
We hold ourselves accountable to the learners we serve, and to the communities we work within.

Every learner we select receives more than a scholarship – they gain a partner in their journey. We promise to show up early, stay present, and walk alongside each learner from Grade 8 through to Grade 12, helping them grow into confident, capable young adults with real choices and clear direction.

Our Values

Our values shape everything we do – from how we support our learners to how we engage with our partner schools and funders.
