    Selection Process

The SAILI selection process screens candidates for academic ability and financial need.

SAILI will meet with potential scholars from when they are in Grade 6. In November of the Grade 6 academic year, two rounds of tests are conducted. The first round is a maths test and, if successful, candidates progress to the second round which screens for motivation, grit, maths orientation, personal goal setting and self-reflection.

Our selection of scholars is made by the February of Grade 7 to allow ample time for the students to apply for high school places at partner schools. The scholarship starts at the beginning of Grade 8, at the point of natural transition to high school.
