    Our Impact

    In collaboration with our partners, we have been able to identify;

    • How data moves through departments and sub-directorates
    • What some of the constraints are with current data analysis
    • Where data and analytic capacity gaps exist
    • Why education officials can feel over–burdened with the scale and complexity of information

    In response, we have;

    • Started to establish ‘products’ and ‘product distribution channels’
    • Looked at opportunities to standardise aspects of the analysis function outputs including;
      1. Input data
      2. Frequency
      3. Format
      4. Distribution

    With the aim of;

    • Establishing a regular set of inputs and outputs
    • Reducing workload and saving time spent on manual data manipulation
    • Decreasing dependency on senior officials
    • Building analysis capability within the Department
    • Enhancing links between directorates through the flow of data

    We rely on feedback loops from participating education departments that allow us to strengthen the work as we go.  It is through this type of iteration that we;

    • Create fit-for-purpose programmes
    • Increase our impact and
    • Add real value to collaborating education departments’ system

    building our future

    Our longer term aim is to expand this work across South Africa. SAILI welcomes potential partners to contact us should they wish to engage our services or simply have an exploratory discussion. Please contact Sam@saili.org.za
